SMN Class of 1978 - 25 year reunion 
+ MULTI-YEAR ALUMNI INVITATION: We are extending this invitation to all alumni from the graduating classes of '76, '77, 79, and '80 and anyone else who may have NOT graduated from SMN, but went to elementary, middle school, or part of their high school years with us.

Details for Friday and Saturday:

DATE: Friday, October 10th, 2003
WHAT: SMN HOMECOMING PARADE / GAME
Dress for the weather!
+++An alumni float is being prepared for the parade.
Parade Start Time: 2pm Starting from the school (SMN), heading East on Johnson Dr.,  ending at Mission Bowl on Martway
+++Contact Marybeth Dagg Bloom, Class of '77, at  smnorth1977 @ yahoo . com. ASAP if you want to be involved with decorating or riding on the float.
FYI: Several people are going to Lucky Brewgrille for lunch and plan to stay for the parade.
+++WEATHER: The Weather Channel is predicting sunshine with
highs in the mid 70's and lows in the 50's!
Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the moments of our lives...
+++ No alcohol is permitted on school property.
WHERE: Coach Merlin Gish Stadium at SMN

WHAT: Homecoming Football Game
WHEN: Game Time: 7pm
+++IMPORTANT - New SM School District policy -  no one is allowed into the stadium after the third quarter begins.   This includes re-admittance too. So don't be late and don't leave too early!
Everyone is invited for cocktails after Friday's Game:
>> Meet us at the Lucky Brewgrille and The Clarette Club (behind Lucky's),  5400 Martway
(5401 Johnson Dr., Mission, KS - the latter is owned by a fellow SMN Alumnus who graduated in the '50s)

WHAT: Homecoming Dance
Dress: Business Casual and up
WHERE: SMN Cafeteria (Current Students will be in the Gymnasium)
7401 Johnson Dr. - Overland Park, KS
WHEN: 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Serving desserts, coffee and soft drinks.
+++A photographer will be available for portraits,
and a DJ will be spinning the sounds of the '70's. 
+++Just a reminder - Our agreement with the School, in accordance with District policy, is that
+++no alcohol is permitted on school property.
(Amazing, even at our age, they STILL won't let us have cocktails at school! - whodathunkit?!?)

+++Portrait Photos: The photographer will be available for couple and/or group shots.  Get creative with whom you want to make a memory!  Good friends, former sweetheart(s), your Homecoming date from 25 years ago, your current honey, groups, couples, it's up to you.  We're working on a fun, memory-filled backdrop to complete the picture. 
+++Payments are made that night to the photographer and pictures will be shipped within 2-3 weeks.  Package prices available from $10 to $22. 

We will NOT be utilizing a postal service mailing for this event and are relying on YOU to help us get the word out to our fellow alumni. Keep us updated with your current email address and please let us know how to reach your friends to get them all of the information. Please register at http://classmates.com and check http://smn-rab.org frequently for updates. Cellular phone plans have given most of us the ability to reach out and touch people long distance, usually for free or very cheap on nights and weekends, so what better time to hunt down your friends and make sure they'll be joining us to celebrate our 25 year reunion!
We are also extending this invitation to all alumni from the graduating classes of '76, '77, 79, and '80 and anyone else who may have NOT graduated from SMN, but went to elementary, middle school, or part of their high school years with us.

+++Registration is available for $20.00 per person for the entire weekend. If you haven't paid by October 1, 2003, look for our table outside the Stadium on Friday night for registration for both nights and/or discounted tickets into the Football game. If you haven't pre-registered we still would appreciate an RSVP ASAP to make sure we have enough of everything for everyone.

+++All early registrations will qualify for drawing to win free admission.

Hi guys and gals! Hope you all recovered from the reunion weekend! I haven't....well that's my excuse of the week anyway....

And if you didn't make it...well we sure missed you! It was a lot of fun!

We sent a letter "snail mail" to all who didn't have email addresses... Please encourage your fellow Indians to send online contact info to the committee.

UPCOMING EVENTS

1) October 16, 1998 - SMN HOMECOMING GAME - North's homecoming football game is this Friday night at 7PM. Should be a decent turnout of us there...please join us if you can. Should be fun! (They can't POSSIBLY lose as bad as the Chiefs did last week...can they?) ;D

2) October 17, 1998 - SCHOOL TOUR - SMN is graciously opening their doors to us for a self-guided tour, thru the newly remodeled and air conditioned (...I guess its better late than never...) campus, on Saturday, October 17th, from 1-2 PM. Enter thru the main doors by the office and come see what's new at SMN. We may not have access to the gym because they will be decorating for the dance.....ahh.... ./`./`./` Memories....light the corner of my mind... ./`./`./` never mind..... *sigh* ( should have been humming "Colour my World"... ;) )

3) October 17, 1998 - PARTY! - Dawnlee Weber has graciously opened her house for our very own homecoming party/dance, anytime after 7PM on Saturday the 17th. Cost is $5 a head and BYOB. Her home is located at 8901 Lamar. Call her at 913-652-0402 or drop her a line at ksukoolkat @ aol.com to RSVP and to ask for directions or whatever. We'd love to see you there.

4) YEARBOOK SUPPLEMENT DEADLINE - This weekend (10/16-18) is the ABSOLUTELY< POSITIVELY THE LAST time you can send/drop off your supplement info for it to make it to the printer for publishing. Unless we hear otherwise, we are printing all email and snail mail addresses, and phone numbers that we have so far.

5) AD SPACE - Anyone wishing to purchase advertising space in the supplements or upcoming newsletters, please contact us ASAP. We must have final copy to the printers immediately. If we are going to do business out their in the real world, might as well do it with people we know! The money we raise will help insure we can keep the newsletter alive and keep our class in contact with one another!

6) YOUR SUBMISSIONS - Supplements and videos will NOT be back from the printer until mid December.

7) December 29th, 1998 - Anyone who will be in town and wants an excuse (do we still NEED excuses) to have a drink or just mingle with friends from North.... Come to Pitchers at the Marriott at 109th and Metcalf, on Tuesday night, December 29th, anytime after 8PM and wish each other a Happy Holiday and New Year...and you can pick up your supplements then too ;) 7) 

Anyone wishing to purchase supplements, videos, T-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball caps, etc.,

8) REUNION PHOTOS - Color copies of the elementary group shots that were taken at the reunion will be available mid-December. A 5x7 will cost $7.00. Let us know which school and how many you'll need and we'll get them ordered for you! The group shot that was taken outside the Marriott the night of the reunion is also available from an outside organization. Cost is $10 for an 8x10. If you are interested in purchasing one of these, let us know and we'll get you their information.

Cathy (Paddock) Barnett Fan Club will be getting together to see Cathy in her next production late February/early March 1999.
